What Does Cap Me Mean?

Only true swimmers will understand what “cap me” means.

For those of you who aren’t familiar, “cap me” is a phrase that swimmers use to ask each other when they need help putting on their swim cap.

Asking for assistance is sometimes necessary because of how difficult it can be to put on a swim cap by yourself. By having someone else help you, it’s more likely that the swim cap will be properly aligned and cover all or most of your hair.

So What is Cap Me Club?

Cap Me Club is a website I made with a focus on swimming.

Having swam in college (and even one summer under the legendary Bob Bowman at NBAC), I continue to enjoy the sport. Whether that’s spectating a meet or swimming laps myself, I don’t foresee my love of swimming going away anytime soon. As an avid blogger, I made this website to share with the swimming community.

But this website isn’t the first project I made for the swimming community.

Way back in 2010, I made an iPhone app called iSwim Converter to convert swimming times between yards and meters. I then went on to make it for Android too. While these apps are no longer available on the app stores due to incompatibility issue with the newest phones, I decided to incorporate a swim time converter and other swimming calculators into this website.

A Bit About Tony 🏊🏻‍♂️

My competitive swimming career spanned 16 years between 1996 and 2012. During that time, I swam for the Muhlenberg Muhls, Laurel Run Blue Streaks, and Loyola Greyhounds.

After college, I participated in various open water swims as well as an olympic distance triathlon in Atlantic City, NJ.

Today I only occasionally get to the pool, but my ambitious desire to complete a full Ironman Triathlon won’t go away until I cross that finish line.

Tony's Best Times

Sprint freestyle was my stroke and distance of choice. Here are my best times in these and other events.
